Thousands of Israelis Take Part in Controversial Right-Wing Flag March in Jerusalem

Thousands of Israelis participated in a controversial right-wing “flag march” in parts of East Jerusalem on June 15, while at least 17 Palestinian protesters were arrested, according to Israel Police.

The march was initially planned for May 10 but rescheduled as tensions rose between Hamas and Israel that month. Israeli police deployed 2,000 officers across Jerusalem ahead of the event on Tuesday, which was seen as a test of Israel’s new government.
