Thousands March Against Orban Government's NGO, University Clampdown

Thousands marched to the parliament building in Budapest on Sunday, in the latest protest against the Prime Minister Victor Orban’s government clampdown on a foreign university and NGOs.

The wave of protests erupted at the start of April over a new law that would shut down the Central European University founded by US financier George Soros.

Protesters reportedly set up a tents in front of the university in the evening, saying that they would not leave until the law was withdrawn. Credit: Twitter/@liliebayer via Storyful
