Thousands take part in "World Cleanup Day" in Indonesia

Around 1,500 volunteers from Padang CIty in West Sumatra, Indonesia took part on Saturday in "World Cleanup Day."

Footage showed groups collecting rubbish which had been scattered along the Batang Arau River.

According to the World Cleanup Day website, the event sees "volunteers and partners worldwide... come together to rid our planet of trash – cleaning up litter and mismanaged waste from our beaches, rivers, forests, and streets."
