Thousands of Pigs Killed in Fire at German Breeding Facility

Tens of thousands of pigs were killed as a major fire tore through a pig-breeding facility in Alt Tellin, Germany, on Tuesday, March 30, local media reported.

NDR said that, according to a spokesman for Agricultural Piglet Breeding Germany (LFD), ​​more than 55,000 piglets and sows died.

Only around 1,300 animals could be saved, NDR said.
