Thousands Rally in Tirana to Demand Resignation of Albanian PM

Tens of thousands of Albanians rallied outside the Prime Minister’s Office in Tirana on Friday, June 20, to call for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

The protests come as opposition parties plan to boycott municipal elections, due to be held on July 30. Rama has vowed that the elections will go ahead, and said the opposition were attempting to disrupt Albania’s membership negotiations with the European Union, according to Euronews.
