Thousands of Sheep Herded Along Washington Road
Thousands of sheep were guided safely along a highway in Washington on Tuesday, August 2, the Washington State Department of Transportation said.
Footage released by WSDOT shows a cloud of dust rising as the sheep run along US 97 near Cle Elum, Washington.
WSDOT wrote that they helped “provide some traffic control” for the 2,000 animals, who make the trek twice every summer to access higher pastures.
The department added: “You can hear the sheep coming for about 10 minutes before they show up in a cloud of dust, birds chirping in excitement before the sheep disappear back up into the trees. Quite a sight!” Credit: WSDOT via Storyful
