Threatened Red-Crowned Crane Chick Makes Debut at Bronx Zoo
A vulnerable red-crowned crane chick made its debut at New York’s Bronx Zoo, footage released on Thursday, August 8, shows.
Footage taken by the Bronx Zoo shows the tiny red-crowned crane chick, which hatched on June 8, walking around its habitat with its parents. The chick is the zoo’s third red-crowned crane.
According to the International Union of Conservation in Nature (IUCN), red-crowned cranes are considered a vulnerable species, with an estimated wild population of fewer than 2,500. Credit: Bronx Zoo via Storyful
