Three arrested after drugs, weapons and illegal vapes seized in Erdington police raids

Three men were arrested after drugs, weapons and illegal vapes were discovered during separate police raids in Erdington. Officers stormed into three properties and a shop in the early hours of Friday, January 31.

Cannabis plants were found inside the first property. A man at the scene was arrested on suspicion of drug offences.

Several weapons were also recovered from the address. Police then moved on to two other properties and arrested two more men who were wanted on recall to prison.

Hundreds of illegal vapes and counterfeit cigarettes were later seized from a shop on Erdington High Street. Detective Superintendent Jim Munro of West Midlands Police said: "Days like this are at the heart of what we’re trying to achieve with Operation Fearless.

“Taking drugs, weapons, and illicit goods off the streets – and arresting offenders - are key to driving down crime in Erdington and across the West Midlands. We're listening to what people in the area are telling us, and we will continue to act on their concerns.”

Mohammed Tariq of Trading Standards added: “This is another example of fantastic partnership work between Birmingham Trading Standards, and the Operation Fearless team.

“We will continue to work with our partners to make Birmingham a safe and healthy place for local residents and communities. Let this be a warning to rogue traders that, if you supply illicit and unsafe goods, they will be seized and further legal action will be taken if you break the law.”
