Three Bears Stop for a Drink in Romania's Carpathian Mountains

A mama bear, her cub, and another brown bear found a watering hole that was just right in Romania’s Apuseni Nature Park on October 27.

According to Romsilva, Romania’s National Directorate of Forests, the country’s forests support the largest bear population in the European Union.

Apuseni Nature Park in the Apuseni Mountains, a subgroup of the Carpathians, has an area of about 300 square miles and is one of the 22 parks managed by Romsilva, the agency said. Credit: National Directorate of Forests – Romsilva via Storyful
