Three cars set on fire in 'targeted attack' in Dewsbury

Three cars have been set on fire in a "targeted attack" in Dewsbury.

West Yorkshire Police say the fire took place at around 12.30am today on Parker Road in the Thornhill Lees area of Dewsbury. The three cars, a Skoda Fabia, an Audi A3 S-Line and a Honda Civic, suffered extensive damage.

The suspects are believed to have made use of an accelerant and it is believed they arrived at the scene and left the scene in two cars. One was a 4x4 type and another was a saloon-style car.

Now, the police say the attack is being treated and the Kirklees District CID is currently investigating, while police patrols of the area have been increased.

West Yorkshire Police said: "Police are appealing for information after three cars were set alight in the Thornhill Lees area of Dewsbury.

"It happened at about 12.30am today (Thursday) in Parker Road and caused extensive damage to a Skoda Fabia, an Audi A3 S-Line and a Honda Civic.

"The suspects are believed to have used an accelerant and are thought to have arrived at and left the scene in two vehicles – a 4x4-type vehicle and a saloon-style car.

"The incident is being treated as a targeted attack and Kirklees District CID is investigating. Police patrols of the area have also been increased.

"Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at around the above time or anyone who has other information or footage which may assist."
