Three Edinburgh secondary schools will remain closed on Monday with safety inspections to take place following Storm Eowyn.

The council has confirmed Drummond High School, Forrester High School and Craigmount High School will not reopen on January 27 following a red weather warning for wind on Friday.

The storm brought hurricane gusts of more than 70mph to the capital and grounded flights in and out of Edinburgh Airport. Shops and schools were also forced to close across the central belt.
