Festival season is well and truly back.

Good music, good food, good drink and most importantly, good weather are what make festivals the most enjoyable of events. And for those who put special emphasis on the "good food" and "good drink", there's nothing better than, you guessed it, a food and drink festival.

We've just had Southport Food and Drink Festival, which ran from Friday May 31 to Sunday June 2 and welcomed 59 street food vendors, 16 bars and plenty of coffee houses and soft drinks stalls for its 30,000 visitors to choose from.

But if you were unfortunate enough to not make the event in Victoria Park then do not worry, as the following festivals are also scheduled for this year.

Autumn Racing Food & Drink Festival at Chester Racecourse

This food and drink festival, hosted at the world’s oldest racecourse, runs from Friday, September 13 to Saturday, September 14.

The weekend will see the rustic charm of farmers markets, local brewers and independent producers join forces with all the fun of a race day at Chester.

Featuring acoustic live performances, you’ll be able to watch live cooking demonstrations as well as take part in tastings of real ale, cheese and wine.

An ideal day out for family and friends.

Craft Brew Festival

After a successful debut and sellout sessions of Craft Brew Festival across the UK in 2023, the event is now coming to Liverpool from Friday 21 - Saturday 22 June at the Invisible Wind Factory.

British craft beer is the star of the show here, from independent and micro brewers. Tickets get visitors entry, a souvenir glass, a festival programme, a chance to meet the brewers and five hours of unlimited craft beer.

Need some good food to soak up the booze? Don't worry as there will be a wide selection of street food being served at the festival.

You can even bring your dog - as long as they don't get drunk!

Samlesbury Hall Food & Drink Festival

A 50 minute drive from Liverpool is Samlesbury Hall in Preston.

The historic house will be hosting its first ever food and drink festival on the June 15 and 16.

The 700-year-old hall will welcome visitors to experience two days of entertainment and cookery demonstrations while showcasing a variety of Lancashire's finest food and drink producers.

Hall Director, Sharon Jones, said: "We feel privileged to have the opportunity to put on an event that brings together friends and family of all ages for a wonderful blend of excitement, entertainment and culinary inspiration while celebrating local producers, makers and all that the countryside has to offer. Come rain or shine, we're working hard to make sure this is a food/drink festival to remember."
