Three teenage boys have been arrested after one of them was seen brandishing an imitation firearm, police have confirmed. The youths were spotted in the Monkton Hill area of Chippenham with one of them described as waving around what a member of the public believed was a firearm.

Police were called at around 10.50am, with Armed Response Officers carrying out extensive searches, including trains in and out of Chippenham Railway Station being held, and a train at Bath Spa station being searched.

And just before 2pm, as a result of diligent work by two PCSOs, the three youngsters - all aged between 14 and 15 - were located in the underground car park in Chippenham town centre. Response officers attended, and an imitation firearm was located and seized.
