Three teenagers 'lost' on moors of Pendle Hill after their mobile phones died
Three teenagers were rescued from Pendle Hill after getting lost during the night when their phones died.
On Thursday evening (October 31), at 10.50pm, Lancashire Police requested the assistance of Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team (RPMRT) for a group of teenagers at Pendle Hill. The group's mobile phone batteries were dying during this time and the three individuals had become 'lost' on the moors.
The rescue team said they had a vague idea where the group was located, but were initially unable to find an accurate location via 'phonefind' due to their low batteries. However, the teenagers were promptly discovered within 20 minutes and were walked off the hill and back into the nearby village.

A spokesperson stated: We and Mountain Rescue nationally pride ourselves on the level of search skills we formally have, and the experience over many many hours to back it up. All team members are trained to assist and then we also have a number of police qualified search managers who will liaise and coordinate effective searches.
"Thanks to Lancashire Police for the speedy callout and thanks to the team members for their response and positive outcome!!" RPMRT has reminded people to take torches with them on the hills, particularly as the nights are longer and darker as the winter draws in.
They added: "Remember, we’re on call 24/7, 365 no matter the weather or situation. If you feel you might need help time could be of the essence so don’t hesitate, call 999 and ask for the Police, then Mountain Rescue - we’d always rather be called and stood down if not required, than required and called too late or not at all.
"Lastly, it was great to see everyone having a good time on Pendle to celebrate Halloween and even better to see numbers up on previous years."
