Three-vehicle crash on A189 Spine Road in Ashington sees one person taken to hospital
A three-vehicle crash in Ashington on the A189 Spine Road has seen one person taken to hospital.
Northumbria Police confirmed officers attended the scene following the collision, which took place on the northbound side of the road just after 9am.
According to the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS), two people were treated at the scene and were subsequently discharged, but one patient was then taken to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital.

No one is believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.
A spokesperson for NEAS said: "We were called to a three vehicle road traffic incident on the A189, Ashington, at 9.12 this morning. We dispatched a double crewed ambulance.
"Two patients were treated and discharged at the scene and one person was taken to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital."
