Three women in hospital as car ploughs into Staffordshire hotel

Three women have been left in hospital after a car ploughed into a Staffordshire hotel. An air ambulance was scrambled to the collision in Tamworth where the road was shut.

Now Staffordshire Police have launched an appeal for witnesses following the smash at the Castle Hotel - which saw firefighters, two ambulances, and police scrambled to the scene. Photographs from the aftermath of the crash, which occurred at around 3.50pm on October 31, have shown all that remains of the Toyota Yaris.

Police say a rear-seat passenger was left trapped with firefighters having to free all three female occupants from the vehicle. West Midlands Ambulance Service say one patient suffered 'potentially serious injuries'.

On arrival, crews found three patients, all women. The first patient was treated for potentially serious injuries and conveyed by land ambulance to Good Hope Hospital. The other two patients were treated for minor injuries and conveyed by land ambulance to Heartlands Hospital."
