Thrilling Edinburgh Christmas market ride leaves tourist baffled by screams

An Edinburgh tourist was left baffled after he heard blood curdling screams from an iconic ride at the Christmas market.

The capital has turned into a winter wonderland, with Edinburgh's Christmas events in full swing across the city. From the new Polar Ice Bar to the much loved markets, the festive spirit cannot be missed.

However, one major ride has left stomachs churning with screams heard along Princes Street.

Standing at 80m tall, the popular Star Flyer towers over East Princes Street Gardens offering customers a birds eye view of the city.

However it is not for the faint hearted as it builds up speed and wizzes round next to the towers Scott Monument.

Taking to TikTok, one tourist captured the moment terrified customers were being spun around the ride. High pitched screams could be heard from Princes Street.

He added the caption: "Why are they screaming?"

Previously Edinburgh Live reported how one person also shared their hilarious reaction to the thrilling ride.

Connor repeatedly said "I don't want to do this" before continuously screaming while the ride spun the pair round."

He added: "What are we getting ourselves into? Mate, I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this anymore. Oh no."

As the ride starts he begins laughing in sheer belief and says "it's so cold" while his eyes remain shut.

The clip gained over 13,000 views with many flocking to the comments to share their fears of the ride too.

One person said: "I was going to go on it but when we looked up from the ground we felt sick."

Another comment reads: "How are so many brave enough to bring their phones so high up."
