Thunberg: People are underestimating 'the force of angry kids'

Climate change activist Greta Thunberg docked in Lisbon on Tuesday (December 3) after a 20-day Atlantic crossing in a catamaran.

She's on her way to Madrid, where the COP25 climate summit is currently underway where she will demand urgent action on global warming.

Thunberg refuses to travel by plane - and left New York on the boat, La Vagabonde, in November.

Speaking shortly after disembarking, she told reporters and supporters that people are underestimating the force of angry kids.

"Eventually we will go into COP25 in Madrid and we will continue the fight there to make sure that within those walls the voices of the people are being heard and the voices of future generations are being heard and the voice from the people specially from the global south are being heard."

Thunberg's arrival in Lisbon coincides with the release of a bleak report by the Geneva-based World Meteorological Organization...

which warns that the past decade is almost certain to be the hottest yet recorded.
