Thunder Force's Melissa McCarthy has been talking about the movie's raw chicken scenes.
During the film, which recently debuted on Netflix, McCarthy's superhero Lydia munches on raw chicken to maintain her incredible strength. But what on earth was she really eating on set?
Speaking to CBR, the star shared an explanation.
"Would you be upset if I just said chicken?" she began, before adding: "This brilliant woman spent weeks and weeks and weeks figuring out how to really [mimic the texture] and get that colour. It was pear, like Asian pear, but there were all these things done to it.
"I have to say, when the plate was put down in front of me, it still really seemed like raw chicken, so she did her job incredibly well.
"Yeah, every time that would come out, to see there's 150 people surrounding you that are just clearly repulsed by you, it was quite a feeling."
Mmm... finger lickin' good!
Elsewhere, in Digital Spy's three-star review of the movie, we wrote: "Though it's hardly a scathing satire of superhero movies, that wasn't what we were expecting. Instead, about 20 minutes in, it'll hit you: 'Wow, this is surprisingly enjoyable.'
"Thunder Force is equal parts silly and sweet, and though it may not be the smartest film on Netflix, it's one worth watching."
Thunder Force is now streaming on Netflix.
