A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued for Leicestershire and large parts of England and Wales. The Met Office is urging people to be alert to potential flooding and disruption.

The alert, which comes into effect tomorrow (Saturday, September 21), warns of storms. Affected locations could see significant rainfall in a short period of time.

Forecasters are warning that some areas might experience heavy downpours, with the possibility of hail and frequent lightning accompanying the most intense storms. The Met Office has warned that the storms could lead to difficult driving conditions and, in some areas, potential road closures.
