  • Tiger Woods shot a blistering 5-under, 66 in the third round of The Open Championship and briefly held a tie for the lead.

  • Woods finished the day four strokes behind the leaders in a tie for sixth place.

  • Even if Woods does not win The Open, the incredible run has proven that he can win another major.

If it wasn't official before, it is now — Tiger is back.

Tiger Woods rattled off six birdies in 11 holes during the third round of The Open Championship at Carnoustie en route to a 5-under 66. It was his lowest score in a major since 2011.

Tiger would finish the day at 5-under, four strokes behind the leaders, including Jordan Spieth. But before that, he briefly had the golf world buzzing when he reached the green on the Par 5 14th in two and two-putted for a birdie and a share of the lead.

Tiger's incredible run at The Open has effectively ended the biggest debate about his latest comeback — Can Tiger Woods win another major?

The answer is a resounding "Yes."

Woods might not win The Open this week, and he might not win the PGA Championship at Bellerive in August, and we can still debate whether or not he can catch Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 major championships. But if anybody, at this point, is still saying Woods won't win another major, they are just guessing, because clearly, Tiger can win a 15th major.

It's also clear that Tiger believes he is back.

"I played well today,” Woods said. “I really, really did. It’s been a few years since I felt like this.”

Even NBC's legendary golf announcer Johnny Miller believes Tiger is ready to break through.

"There’s sort of a glass ceiling on him right now," Miller said. "He’s done so many fabulous things in his career, but he needs to break through the ice is what it amounts to. He is ready to break out and has a good chance to win, if not win."

And if you doubt that, check out this approach on 18 to save par after nearly putting his drive in the burn.

Tiger is back, but more importantly, so is his game.
