If you’re anything like us, your kitchen cupboards are probably hiding a bit of a guilty secret. Though we do try to keep our cooking paraphernalia clutter-free, when it comes to storing our baking trays we draw a bit of a blank.

Cue piled up baking sheets tumbling out of the cupboard every time you need to get one out.

Thankfully, one TikTok user seems to have come up with a simple yet genius solution to effectively storing your trays, without the fear of hurting your foot every time you open the cupboard door.

The really clever thing is that all you’ll need for perfectly-stored roasting tins is a common product found in offices up and down the land: a humble filing rack.

Rather than storing her cupcake and baking trays on top of each other, TikToker Mama Mila used an office filing rack to create a separated space for each one to be placed horizontally.

Though the filing rack appearing in this particular vid is from Target in Australia at a cost of $7 (approx £4), any office filing rack should do the job and you can buy similar in the UK from Amazon, eBay and the like.

Unsurprisingly, since the clip was uploaded to the video-sharing site earlier this month, it has been viewed more than 50,000 times and clocked up thousands of likes.

The simple storage solution has also been praised by users for helping them to sort the last taboo in kitchen cupboard organisation, with some even describing it as a game-changer.

“You have just answered my prayers!’ one user commented.

“Where have you been all my life? This is a game-changer,” another agreed.

“Thank you I have been looking for a way to organise my baking stuff,” yet another fan wrote.

Others suggested the hack could work with other kitchen items.

“I do this with chopping boards, why didn’t I think to do it with pans? This is so helpful, definitely implementing ASAP,” one user offered.

This isn’t the only social media share helping to improve our lives recently.

Last week, we learnt about the clever way of avoiding kitchen spills while pouring liquids from a bowl to a pan, or vice versa.

And last month we learned how to make the crispiest roast potatoes using a magical store cupboard ingredient and back in August we solved the problem of cleaning stained tuppaware.

We were also impressed when a woman shared a clever trick for disposing of hot grease without having to pour it down the drain.
