Tim Walter highlights key factor in Hull City cause ahead of Cardiff City clash
Tim Walter believes his Hull City players will benefit from another clear week without a midweek game as they prepare to face bottom side Cardiff City next weekend.
Friday night's 3-1 win at Stoke City was their first under Walter and saw the Tigers roar back from a goal down at half-time to score three times in 16 second half minutes to secure a hugely important win.
The victory was their first in almost 150 days and next weekend, City will aim to notch up a first home success in even longer when they take on the Bluebirds, who were beaten 2-0 by Leeds United on Saturday and had Joel Bagan sent off, a result which heaped more pressure on Erol Bulut, leaving them without a win in six games.

Given the incredible amount of new players - 16 so far with Joao Pedro set to become number 17 next week - Walter is pleased to have a free week to get more work in on the training pitch. It is something, barring the international next two breaks, he will not have the luxury of in the coming weeks with the likes of QPR, Burnley, Oxford United, Sheffield Wednesday and Watford to come before the end of the year.
"I said that the boys have a lot of confidence, and they have a lot of conviction, especially in our philosophy, because if they don't have it, they wouldn't play like that so they are doing it," Walter told Hull Live.
"They don't know each other really well, because they are just one-and-a-half weeks together so you don't have the positioning feelings, especially if you have a right back and a right winger, so there's always moments when it's not fitting.
"It's getting better because now we have the time together also again a whole week and that's a help. That helps us a lot, and that's what we need time, but such a success is always good for the mood and for the feeling because we we always believed in ourselves and that's what we showed."
