Ulster rivals Armagh and Derry go head-to-head for the third time in the Championship - this time with the All-Ireland MFC title at stake.

The Oak Leafers are the current holders of the Tom Markham Cup and today’s final is the third time in successive years that two teams from the same province have contested the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship final.

Derry defeated Armagh in Owenbeg 2-18 to 0-7 in May in the group stage, but just two points separated the teams in the Ulster final in O’Neills Healy Park.

A handful of Damian McErlain’s squad featured in last year’s win over Monaghan at the Box-It Athletic Grounds and Derry are strong favourites to secure a third minor title in five seasons.

However, Aidan O’Rourke’s side could have easily snatched victory at the end of the Ulster final and the Orchard County were impressive winners over Connacht champions Mayo in the semi-final.
