Timelapse Captures Smoke From California's Beckwourth Complex Fire Billowing Over Nevada

Evacuation orders in northwest California were expanded by officials on Saturday, July 10, as the Beckwourth Complex Fire grew to more than 55,000 acres.

The fire is made up of two lightning-caused fires – Sugar and Dotta – that merged as they burned near the border with Nevada. As of July 10, the fire complex had grown to 55,091 acres, and was eight percent contained, according to officials.
