Timelapse Footage Shows Smoke Wafting From California's Mosquito Fire

The Mosquito Fire burning in Placer County, California, more than quadrupled in size to 5,705 acres overnight on September 7, according to fire authorities.

Timelapse footage released by the United States Forest Service (USFS) Tahoe National Forest shows smoke billowing skyward. The service said the fire “exhibited extreme fire behavior and growth” burning in critically dry fuels and steep terrain.
