Timelapse Shows Busy Ocean City Boardwalk on Memorial Day Weekend

New Jersey Gov Phil Murphy told CNN on May 25 that he wasn’t alarmed by crowds on New Jersey beaches and boardwalks over Memorial Day weekend, suggesting overcast weather may have deterred some people from going to the shore.

The state’s beaches and boardwalks reopened in time for the holiday weekend, with people urged to avoid social gatherings and respect social distancing guidelines.

Murphy praised New Jersey residents for being “incredibly responsible” during the pandemic, and said he believes the state’s mayors have worked out a good plan for limiting capacity and social distancing.
