Timelapse Shows Salt Fire Spread Before Firefighters Make Progress on Containment

Firefighters battling the Salt Fire near Lakehead were starting to gain a foothold on the blaze Friday, July 2, according to local media reports.

The number of acres burned has increased, but “the rate of growth was starting to slow compared to Wednesday and Thursday,” the Record Searchlight said.

The Salt Fire grew to 5,043 acres and was five per cent contained, Shasta-Trinity National Forest officials latest update said.
