Large plumes of smoke billowed from the Dixie Fire in California as it expanded to over 40,000 acres (about 62 square miles) on July 19.
The fire was 15 percent contained on July 19, officials said.
Official reports said the fire was very active and had produced a large smoke column with crews battling the blaze from the ground and the air.
Pacific Gas and Electric, California’s largest utility, said on Sunday that blown fuses on one of its utility poles may have sparked the fire, according to media reports. Credit: ALERTWildfire via Storyful
