Timelapse Video Shows Total Lunar Eclipse From Louisiana

A timelapse video posted to YouTube showed a total lunar eclipse from Youngsville, Louisiana, on May 15.

Glenn Delaune filmed a stunning video that shows the moon being engulfed by the shadow of the earth, then re-emerging blood-red in color and being lit up again in the night sky.

Sunday night’s spectacle has been called a “super flower blood moon," since May’s full moon is referred to as the flower moon, while a total eclipse is sometimes known as a blood moon due to its color. To complete the celestial triple whammy, and explain the mouthful of a name, the eclipse came as the moon was closest to Earth, making it a “super moon." Credit: Glenn Delaune via Storyful
