Tiny Kitten Rescued From Inside Jeep Tire Well

A kitten was rescued from the inside of a Jeep tire well in Tampa, Florida, after a driver heard persistent meowing on the morning of June 6.

Footage captured by Luis A Montero shows a mechanic freeing the kitten from the inside of the car’s wheel well.

Montero said he first heard meowing at 4:30 am when he began driving. Unable to locate the source of the sound after checking the engines, he continued his drive after the noise subsided. An hour later, Montero heard meowing again and decided to take his car to a mechanic, where they located the kitten and worked for 40 minutes to extract the animal.

The kitten has since been adopted by the mechanic who rescued it and named Whodini.

Montero told Storyful he was “glad” the animal was safe, adding: “There just no way in good faith that I could continue to drive the Jeep knowing that kitten was in trouble.” Credit: Luis A Montero via Storyful
