A tiny shop which has been dubbed 'Britain's narrowest' measuring just 4 foot wide is now on sale for £24,000. The property, which sits on a highstreet in Blackwood, Wales is sandwiched between a shoe shop and an opticians.

Spanning a mere 11.5 square meters, the premises has previously been used as a vape shop, a sweet stall and a sandwich bar. The property is listed for sale by south Wales-based Paul Fosh Auctions with a guide price of £24,000.

Due to its low rateable value, it is exempt from business rates, however the auctioneer says that "although it's small, it's in an ideal spot for the right business."

Debra Bisley, of Paul Fosh Auctions, is confident that the space - which is just four and a half feet wide with a depth of 28 feet - could be a perfect fit for a small business with big ideas.

Debra - who didn't need to stretch to measure the width of the unit - added that an enterprising business could make success of the pocket-sized property.

She said: "The shuttered premises has previously traded as a vape shop, a sweet stall and as a sandwich bar. The possibilities for the space may not be endless but with some imagination it could perhaps become a takeaway coffee shop, card shop, small boutique, perhaps a mobile phone repair outlet, a bijou beauty salon or nail bar.

"The shop, sandwiched between ShoeZone and Specsavers and with a range of independent and national traders nearby, has a kitchenette at the back so there's a start for the entrepreneurial cafe owner at least.

Debra added: "Ideally located on thriving Blackwood High Street the recently renovated property, previously let at £3,650pa, benefits from plenty of footfall and passing trade."

Bidding starts at 12pm, on Tuesday, November 5 and ends from 5pm on Thursday, November 7.
