Titanic returning to cinemas for 20th anniversary

There's no letting go of Titanic.

James Cameron's enduring blockbuster has been enshrined as a monument to cinema's most epic qualities - big special effects, big stars, big emotions.

For its 20th anniversary, the Oscar winner will return to theatres for a limited time starting Friday, 1 December. The news was first posted by the film's official Twitter account, including a video introduced by its director James Cameron.

In particular, its return will see the film projected in Dolby Vision HDR exclusively at AMC theatres, which Cameron says left him "stunned". "It was like seeing it for the first time," he adds.

Stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, and Billy Zane all reunited recently at a St. Tropez gala held by DiCaprio's foundation with the aim, ironically, to preserve the world's icebergs.

The event featured an auction which offered one Titanic fan the dinner of a lifetime, the chance to dine with Jack and Rose themselves at a New York restaurant of their choice.
