Good news for fans of pointy chocolate bars: Toblerone bars are returning to their original shape after two years.

Back in 2016, Toblerone makers Mondeléz announced that the gaps between the triangles were going to be a lot wider, due to the rising cost of the magic ingredient cocoa and their desire to keep the price for customers down.

Obviously there was a huge outcry about it, so now Toblerone have announced they are returning to their original shape... but that means that the price is going up.

The Guardian reports that the cost of a bar of the Swiss stuff is going up, from about £1 to over £3. Apparently supermarkets and large retail chains will be able to do promotions between £2 and £2.50, but that's still quite the jump.

This means that Poundland will no longer be able to sell Toblerone due to the cost increase. After the bars were redesigned, the chain introduced their own copycat version called Twin Peaks, which landed them in legal hot water with Mondelez.

The chain are going to relaunch Twin Peaks, with some redesigns of their own, at the end of the summer.

"We're always reviewing our range to make sure we provide great quality Swiss chocolate in formats we know our fans love," a spokesperson for Mondeléz told The Guardian.

"The 150g Toblerone is no longer being manufactured and therefore availability of the bar depends on how much stock an individual retailer is carrying. But 100g and 360g size bars will still be available."

Even so, it looks like the news that Toblerones are going back to the old design has made quite a few chocolate-lovers' days:
