Toes on show: Victoria Beckham starts new boot trend at London Fashion Week AW19

Victoria Beckham has once again started a new trend at London Fashion Week.

Last season the Spice Girl-turned-designer raised a few eyebrows at her brand's 10th anniversary show with the creation of split trousers. Receiving a mixed response at first, the ankle-baring trousers have gone on to become one of the hottest spring/summer 2019 trends.

So, what has VB got in store for autumn/winter? According to her AW19 collection, which showed at the Tate Britain on Sunday, Beckham's hero item for the season ahead is a pair of thigh-high peep toe boots.

Of the 41 looks, 23 models strutted down the catwalk wearing the hero shoe, which came in numerous fabrications and colourways. From skin-tight knitted boots in leopard print, striking scarlet and classic black, to slouchy leather silhouettes in khaki, burgundy, cream and grey.

The shoes were also styled to prove their versatility, paired with everything from a casual midi skirt and woolly jumper to an office-appropriate suit and sleek black evening dress.

VB, of course, has been championing the shoe style in her wardrobe for weeks.

Allowing us a sneak peek at her latest collection, the mum-of-four stepped out in New York in January wearing a tight leather pair in burgundy, which she perfectly matched with a deep rouge polo neck and patterned midi dress.

VB is so smitten with the boots that she wore them twice in one week. The designer was seen at hot spot restaurant Cipriani with Brooklyn Beckham just two days later, wearing the exact same pair, but this time styled with a leather pencil skirt and contrasting khaki knit.

After a quick change, VB also left her London Fashion Week show in another pair. Leaving the Tate Britain with her family in tow, the style icon opted for an eye-catching pillar box red pair straight from the runway, which she wore with a matching bright ensemble. Quite the sartorial statement.
