Tokyo Olympic Games 2021 athletics schedule in full: Track and field events, UK start time, dates and more

Athletics is set to take its usual place as one of the Olympics’ flagship sports as the Games arrive in Tokyo this summer.

A new generation of stars will be looking to announce themselves on the biggest stage in the first Games since the retirement of track and field’s biggest star, Usain Bolt, with world record holders Karsten Warholm, Sydney McLaughlin, Sifan Hassan and Armand Duplantis among those searching for their first Olympic title.

Leading British medal hopes lie with Katarina Johnson-Thompson, as well as a host of exciting young middle distance talent and pole valuter Holly Bradshaw. Dina Asher-Smith had to withdraw due to injury.

Great Britain have Reece Prescod and Zharnel Hughes and CJ Ujah in contention for the men’s 100m final.
