Team GB will hope to secure their first gold medal on Day Three of the delayed Olympics in Tokyo.

After failing to capture any medals on the opening day of the Games, Britain got off the mark with two on Sunday.

Judoka Chelsie Giles took home bronze in the -52kg women’s competition following her win over Switzerland’s Fabienne Kocher and Bradly Sinden had to settle for silver in the men’s -68kg taekwondo after a dramatic final defeat by Ulugbek Rashitov of Uzbekistan.

All eyes will now be on Adam Peaty to potentially deliver that elusive first gold in the pool. More on him in a moment!

Here’s all you need to know ahead of Day Three at the Games...

Day Three highlights

The utterly dominant Peaty is the overwhelming favourite to claim his latest gold in the men’s 100m breaststoke final on Monday, potentially breaking his own world record in the process.

The likes of Freya Anderson and James Guy are also back in the pool, while the Katie Ledecky vs Ariarne Titmus battle in the women’s 400m freestyle final is a race not to be missed.

Also hoping to triumph on Day Three is two-time Olympic bronze medallist Tom Daley, who competes with Matty Lee in the men’s diving 10m platform synchro final as he bids to finally claim gold at his fourth and surely final Games.

In the gymnastics, it’s the men’s artistic team all-around final as double Olympic champion Max Whitlock goes for more gold alongside Joe Fraser, James Hall and Giarnni Regini-Moran.

Jonny Brownlee also tries for his maiden Olympic gold in the men’s triathlon and Team GB canoeist Adam Burgess competes in the men’s C1 event at Sea Forest Waterway.

The men’s rugby sevens action also gets off and running on Monday, with GB battling Canada and hosts Japan in Pool B.
