Olympic sprint champion kicked off Instagram for posting footage of her own races
Jamaican sprint queen Elaine Thompson-Herah was blocked on Instagram for showcasing her own Olympic wins in the women's 100m and 200m.
Thompson-Herah won the women’s 200m final in Tokyo on Tuesday with the second fastest time ever in the history of the event.
It followed her 100m victory, in which she broke Florence Griffith-Joyner's Olympic record, set in the 1988 games.
It is the second Olympics in a row in which the Jamaican has won gold in both event, making her the first woman to defend both titles at the same time.
But despite her record-breaking triumph, she was later blocked on Instagram for posting videos of her races after receiving short shrift from TV rights holders.
"I was blocked on Instagram for posting the races of the Olympic (sic) because I did not own the right to do so. So see y'all in 2 days," the sprinter wrote on Twitter.
The Jamaican had shared videos of her competition races with her 310,000 followers, alongside a story of her sharing her celebrations with friends and family.
However, hours later she was back on her Instagram account, and revealed that "my block is cleared" with smiling emojis.
Thompson-Herah will attempt to make sure Jamaica go one better than their 4x100m relay silver in Rio in Friday's final.
