Tom Daley dives into acting as he films Sharknado 5 in London

Tom Daley dived into his first acting gig as he filmed Sharknado 5 on the banks of the River Thames.

The Olympic gold medallist, 22, was spotted mastering a take in the capital as he joined the cast and crew on Southbank.

Daley was seen jumping onto a wall and screaming “you can’t catch me” as a handful of extras and fans watched on.

It took the champion diver several attempts before film bosses were happy.

It is unclear if Daley - whose fiancé Dustin Lance Black is an Oscar winning film director - will cameo or take on a character.

American actress Tara Reid was also spotted filming on Westminster bridge as she reprised her role as April Wexler.

Reid has starred in every Sharknado film along with former Beverly Hills 90210 star Ian Zierling.

The synopsis for the upcoming comedy-horror instalment reads: “With much of North America lying in ruins, the rest of the world braces for the inevitable: a global sharknado.

“From London to Asia, South Africa to Mexico, Fin and his family must put a stop to the sharknados once and for all.”

Sharknado 5...Earth O is set for release later this year.
