Tom Hiddleston Defends Taylor Swift Relationship... Again

Tom Hiddleston has once again opened up about his bizarre relationship with singer Taylor Swift, insisting that their romance is “authentic”.

And this time he even managed to not refer to the star by her full name, making it that little bit more believable.

In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past few weeks, Taylor and Tom hit the headlines when they were conveniently papped looking seriously loved up on an isolated beach less than three weeks after Tay split from her boyfriend of seventeen months, Calvin Harris.

The pair then went on a romantic tour of the world with the paparazzi in tow, and the couple’s over-the-top displays of love and affection - not to mention the fact that Taylor flew to England to meet Tom’s mum after just nine days of dating - had absolutely everybody convinced that it was a showmance.

All in a bid for Tom to nab himself the James Bond role, with the theory being that Taylor also wants to do an Adele and record the Bond theme tune.

In fact, their “romance” seemed so forced and so on par with Taylor’s ‘Blank Space’, man-eating persona that fans genuinely wondered if the two were secretly filming a Lemonade-esque visual album about Taylor’s relationship with the media.

When questioned previously, Tom raised eyebrows by referring to his apparent girlfriend by her full name and saying: “The truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together and we’re very happy.”

Now the actor has insisted that their relationship is “authentic” in response to being asked if the new-found attention on his personal life bothers him.

Tom explained: “I don’t know, it comes down to being authentic.

"Everything you do you have to make sure you truly believe in it and as long as you know that, it doesn’t matter what anyone else says about it because the nature of being a public figure is that everyone will have an opinion about anything you do, and as long as you know why you’ve done something and you’ve committed to it with authenticity then you’re OK.”

Taylor has recently had bigger fish to fry than whether or not people believe that her relationship is real, with the star currently in the midst of a media silence after Kim Kardashian exposed her for lying about Kanye West.

Tay had previously insisted that Kanye did not call her to approve the controversial lyrics to his track 'Famous’, even taking to the Grammys to accuse the rapper of being misogynistic.

However, Kim released a recording of Kanye’s phonecall with Taylor where she calls the lyrics “a compliment” and “obviously tongue in cheek”.

Long story short, it has not been a good week for Tay Tay.
