Tom Holland has landed his next lead movie role in The Partner.

The Spider-Man actor will both star in and produce the new crime caper based on the novel The Partner by John Grisham, according to Deadline.

Holland will play lawyer turned con artist Patrick Lanigan, who defrauds his former employee by faking his own death.

"Patrick S Lanigan died in a car crash in February 1992. He left behind a mourning wife, young daughter and bright future," reads the book's synopsis.

Universal is the studios behind The Partner, with The Imitation Game's Graham Moore on scripting duties. No further casting details have been shared at this time.

Holland took a break from acting after appearing in the AppleTV+ series The Crowded Room. Late last year, he returned to London's West End to play Romeo in Jamie Lloyd's production of William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet.

In December, Holland also shared an exciting update on the fourth Spider-Man movie, in which he's confirmed to return as the superhero.

The two actors have already read a draft of the script of the follow-up to No Way Home.

"It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job. I read it three weeks ago, and it really lit a fire in me," he shared on The Rich Roll podcast in October last year.

"Zendaya and I sat down, read it together and we at times were bouncing around the living room."
