Tom Holland lands next lead movie role in Christopher Nolan film
Tom Holland has landed a leading role in the new Christopher Nolan film.
The Spider-Man actor will be starring alongside Matt Damon in the mysterious project, which is yet to be titled ahead of its 2026 release date.
Little is known about this movie yet, though The Hollywood Reporter suggests it will not be set in the present day. Whether the movie takes place in the past or future remains to be seen.
Nolan and Damon are reunited once again after most recently collaborating on World War II historical drama Oppenheimer, which won Nolan both Best Director and Best Picture at this year's Oscars. The two previously worked together on Interstellar.

Holland most recently reprised his role as Peter Parker, opposite Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, in Spider-Man: No Way Home and also played iconic video game hero Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie.
Away from the big screen, he produced and starred in last year's Apple TV+ thriller series The Crowded Room, in addition to appearing in the West End production of Romeo & Juliet.
He is expected to return for Spider-Man 4, and according to THR, will likely appear in Avengers: Doomsday with many of his MCU co-stars (including Robert Downey Jr as Doctor Doom).

Tom Holland had an exciting update on Spider-Man 4 earlier in October when he confirmed he and co-star Zendaya had read a draft of the script.
"[The script] needs work, but the writers are doing a great job,” he told The Rich Roll podcast. “I read it three weeks ago, and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I sat down, read it together and we at times were bouncing around the living room.”
Nolan's untitled film is currently set to open on July 17, 2026.
