The Voice UK 2021 coaches were under pressure as the show aired its final round of blind auditions on tonight's (February 13) episode.
Will.I.Am, Anne-Marie and Olly Murs each secured the last spots on their teams early on in the episode, leaving Sir Tom Jones with a great deal of pressure, as he only had one space left and multiple auditions to listen to.
Tom was concerned throughout the show as he wanted to ensure that he was giving the right performer a chance to join his team and take the last place on the show.
After rejecting three contestants in a row, it was 31-year-old singer-songwriter from London, Sami Nathan who managed to secure the last place on Tom's team as she performed a powerful rendition of Etta James' song At Last.
Speaking about her career and experiences with songwriting, Sami said: "I started writing when I was about 13. I remember bunking off lessons sometimes and hiding in the music rooms and writing on the piano for hours.
"But yeah, I kind of found myself drawn to writing music. I wrote a lot of very personal stuff about loss of my family so I definitely wrote about the real stuff. I've written 500 songs so that sort of led to me getting my first publishing deal which is to write for myself and other people.
"I didn't even know what a publishing deal was at that point so I was like 'what is this?' but it's not the same, I want to sing my songs now on stage because it's all that matters to me."
At the end of Sami's audition, Tom turned around and all of the coaches were very happy to see who the last of the 2021 contestants was.
Now that all 40 places are taken, the battles will start, as next week's show will see contestants go head-to-head for a chance to stay in the show.
The Voice UK continues on Saturday (February 20) at 8:35pm on ITV.
