The Voice UK fans were left begging for answers during tonight's (February 29) episode, and it's all thanks to coach Sir Tom Jones.

Being the only coach left yet to steal someone else's singer, the Welsh icon spent most of the evening alluding to a person he "had in mind", without ever disclosing a name.

This not only sent his colleagues (Meghan Trainor, will.i.am and Olly Murs) stir crazy, it also sparked a huge mystery over on Twitter.

Tom sacrificed numerous opportunities to steal as Week 2 of the Battles round unfolded on ITV, with his eye firmly fixed on this unnamed candidate.

However, we're beginning to wonder whether he's overlooking the realistic situation here.

If this singer is indeed steal-worthy, what if the coach in charge also recognises their skills and sends them through to the semi-finals? Surely there's a strong chance this will happen, leaving Tom at a disadvantage as the competition nears its end.

Meanwhile, The Voice UK viewers flooded onto Twitter to share their collective frustration over Tom's teasing, but they'll have to wait until next week to find out who he had in mind.

Take a look at some of the tweets below.

The final bunch of contestants will do battle onstage next week as the semi-finals loom in the near future.

Have you got a favourite in mind already, or could this be one of the strongest series so far?

The Voice UK returns next Saturday (March 7) on ITV at 8:30pm.
