Tom Kerridge's simple exercise routine to maintain 12 stone weight loss transformation
Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge has disclosed the humble activity that played a crucial role in his impressive 12-stone weight loss journey.
After choosing to quit alcohol and adopt healthier eating habits, Tom realised it was time to step up his exercise routine, which led him to discover swimming.
In a candid conversation with Grace Dent on her Comfort Eating podcast, he shared his experiences with swimming and its impact on his physique. He said: "I lost 12 stone, I put some back on in terms of volume because of weight lifting and muscle mass. I swam, so I had a longer, thinner swimmer's body. I've stopped swimming now, I go to the gym and lift and have become much wider."

Amazed by his transformation, Grace couldn't help but comment: "You're just so radically different looking!"
Tom also hinted at a future return to the pool, saying: "At some point I'll say I'm going to stop that, and start swimming again," reports Gloucestershire Live.
He further delved into the moment he decided to overhaul his lifestyle earlier on in the podcast, divulging: "You know if you're drinking that amount it's not good for you, you know if you're that size it's not good for you, you know if you smoke 30 cigarettes a day it's not good for you. We all know that, we're not stupid. So I was 39 and I just went, 'what am I doing? '".
The celebrity chef divulged his penchant for a healthier nibble, opting for cheese and grapes over less nutritious treats: "It is the ultimate snack! It's cheese and grapes. It's cheddar and red grapes and they're always in my fridge because it's very easy, you don't have to do any cooking. It gives you a burst of sugar and vitamins."
In addition to running four gastropubs and restaurants, Tom has become a familiar face on television, featuring in several BBC Two programmes, notably 'Lose Weight and Get Fit with Tom Kerridge' which aired in 2020.
