Tom Lawrence is planning further talks with Wales boss Craig Bellamy as the Rangers ace eyes a return from his international exile.

The 31-year-old was a Dragons regular under Chris Coleman and Ryan Giggs. But a fall-out with former gaffer Rob Page means he hasn’t pulled on a red jersey since a friendly with Mexico back in 2021. Having been frozen out for the entirety of his two-year Ibrox stint, Lawrence was offered hope of a Wales comeback last month after holding initial discussions with new boss Bellamy. The former Celtic striker agreed to let Lawrence sit out this month’s Nations League clashes with Turkey and Montenegro - but left the door open for return when his side face Iceland and the Montenegrins in three week’s time.

Lawro said: “I spoke to the manager before the international break this month. We'll have another chat and see where we're at. But there's no pressure on it, it's pretty open on both sides. I'm not going to say I should be in this or be in that.

“It was open to go there last time but we felt it was right with the injuries I've had in the past just to keep going and make sure I get good training here. We'll have another chat before the next international break but there's no pressure on either side.”
