Here's your round-up of all the latest Swansea City news for Thursday, June 6.

Swans in for Gallagher

Swansea City are reportedly among several clubs interested in Blackburn Rovers striker Sam Gallagher this summer.

Forward options are right at the top of Swansea's wishlist in this window, as Luke Williams looks to bolster his side's firepower ahead of next season.

According to the Daily Express, Gallagher is seen as an option that potentially fits the bill.

The 28-year-old has also been the subject of interest from Premier League new boys Ipswich Town in the past, with the East Anglians reportedly having three bids batted away by Rovers in January. It's believed Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna remains an admirer of the forward, and it seems there's every chance they could well make another effort in this window.

Luton Town are another name believed to be in the picture.

Fresh club enters Driouech chase

Pep Lijnders' Red Bull Salzburg have become the latest side to take an interest in Excelsior winger Couhaib Driouech.

The winger is player admired at Swansea City, who made moves to try and sign him back in January, before turning attention to Ronald, and is some lingering interest from south Wales heading into the summer.

However, the level of competition for his signature means the possibility of a move is looking increasingly slim.

Reports in the Netherlands recently claimed that Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven were pushing to complete a move, lodging a bid of around two million euros. According to Eindhovens Dagblad, the Rotterdam club are now holding out for more money, particularly given the number of admirers keen on making a move.

Sporting and Royal Antwerp are among some of the other names mentioned recently.

Birmingham in advanced talks for Davies

Birmingham City are reportedly in talks to make Chris Davies their new manager.

The 39-year-old has never taken a managerial role before, having until now worked as Ange Postecoglou's assistant at Tottenham Hotspur.

He was targeted to take over at Swansea City following the sacking of Michael Duff towards the end of last year, but decided against taking the job, with the Swans eventually going for Luke Williams as a result.

According to Sky Sports Davies is now in talks to take over at St Andrew's, and could well lead Birmingham's bid to bounce back from League One at the first time of asking.

Swans mourn Letheren

Former Swansea City goalkeeper Glan Letheren has passed away at the age of 68.

Letheren, who hailed from the village of Dafen in Llanelli, made 21 appearances for the Swans between 1970 and 1981 as the club climbed the football pyramid under John Toshack.

He started his career at Leeds United, before enjoying stints with Scunthorpe United, Chesterfield, Blackpool, Oxford City, Scarborough, Bangor City and Llanelli Town.

After hanging up his boots, Letheren moved into coaching and scouting, working in both areas for the Swans. He also held coaching roles at Exeter City, Chester City and Leicester City, as well as the Wales Women's team.

In a statement confirming the news, a Swansea spokesperson said: "Everyone at Swansea City passes on their sincerest condolences to Glan’s friends and family at this sad time."
