Tony Blackburn reveals why he hung up on Frank Sinatra
The radio legend told the hilarious story on The One Show

Tony Blackburn has revealed he once hung up on Frank Sinatra because he thought someone was playing a prank on him.
The radio legend said on The One Show that he had met the US singer after a concert and they exchanged a few words. Sinatra then called him while he was doing a radio show, but Blackburn was convinced it was just another DJ playing a trick on him.
"But it was him and my manager said, 'There aren't many people who have put the phone down on Frank Sinatra and lived'," laughed the star.
What, how and why?
Explaining what happened, Blackburn told The One Show's hosts Roman Kemp and Alex Scott that he and Sinatra, who died in 1998, shared a manager.
"I went to see one of the Frank Sinatra shows and afterwards we went to a private party," he said. "Frank Sinatra, the great man, he came in and he came up to me and said, 'Hello Tony' and he shook me by the hand and he said, 'Have a lovely life' and that was it.
"I was doing the Radio 1 Breakfast Show at the time and the phone went in the studio and I picked it up and said, 'Who is that?' and he said, 'Frank' so I said, 'Frank who?' And he said, 'Frank Sinatra' and I put the phone down."
"I thought it was somebody having a joke!" said the star. "But it was Frank Sinatra!"

What else did Tony Blackburn say on The One Show?
Blackburn also discussed ITV jungle show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! where the likes of Coleen Rooney, Oti Mabuse and Danny Jones are vying to become King or Queen of the Jungle.
The DJ was a jungle camper himself in 2002, becoming the show's first ever winner.
Asked what advice he had for the current crop of campers, he quipped: "Don't do it!"
"I'm joking," he said, laughing. "It's a hard show to do. But I am a vegetarian and I didn't have to eat all that stuff. You know, I couldn't do it now, it's horrible, the stuff they have to eat.
"But I think you have just got to be yourself on it, because that's all you can do."
The One Show airs on BBC One at 7pm on weekdays.
