Top 13 Christmas adverts through the years

Getting excited over the annual bout of Christmas adverts has become as big a festive tradition as watching Love Actually and eating too many mince pies, and we all know that there have been some corkers over the years.
Although this is a topic that is subject to a lot of heated debate, we have compiled a list of the top ten Christmas adverts of all time, and you won't be surprised to hear that Christmas Ad supremos, John Lewis, feature pretty heavily.

Yes, we know that the Iceland adverts are usually cheesy and feature Christmas parties that you would never actually see in real life, but their 2008 effort was a real thing of glory.

Absolutely nobody in the country can hear the 'Toys R Us' jingle without being transported back to their childhood, where many hours were spent running around the store excitedly choosing what you want for Christmas.

Maybe it's still too new to give us that nostalgia factor, or maybe animals are the way to the Nation's heart, not men on moons, but whilst last year's John Lewis ad left half the UK in tears when it debuted, many argued that it's not as heartwarming as other years.
