Tornado Twists Toward Turf in Opelika

A tornado touched down in Opelika, Alabama, in the evening on July 21, damaging mobile homes and bringing down trees and power lines, according to reports. No one was said to be hurt.

The tornado touched down without a warning around 6:26 pm, a spokeswoman for Lee County Emgergency Management agency said. The area went from a severe thunderstorm watch directly to a tornado alert.
